Default O/T but LMAO: The cheese is sold--for more than a new car

Posted By: warshawlaw

That grilled cheese sandwich closed for $28,000 from a legitimate bidder!!!! Here is a story on it:

People are SO STUPID!!!!! I don't know about you, but I'm turning my attention to food collectibles. Anyone for some egg foo yong with the likeness of the Buddha? A bagel with Rabbi Schneerson's image in cream cheese? How about the famous Pope In The Pizza, a la Father Guido Sarducci?

the scene from "Striptease" (movie or book -- if you're skeptical of Striptease-the-movie references, check out the novel by Carl Hiassen) where Ving Rhames plants an insect in his lunch so he can sue?

That would be the ultimate bizarro twist to this story -- it may have a religious likeness, but it's tainted!

The winning bid was by GoldenPalace.com, an online casino, and if you'll recall, an exact quote from the auction itself stated, "I have won $70,000 (total) on different occasions at the casino near by my house..."

This just stands to reason, and I believe is ample proof as to the grilled cheese sandwich's legitimacy - everyone knows the Virgin Mary was a ferocious gambler.

the promised e-mail never showed up...I already saw the auction results, but I didn't know about any "Golden Palace." Except the one in "A Soldier's Story." Yes, you can get one of those GORGEOUS highbrid cars for 20K...

This makes the $29,900 paid for a piece of wedding cake from the Duke of Windsor/Wallis Simpson wedding seem like a bargain in comparison.

However, I'd guess that GoldenPalace.com gets more than $28,000 worth of advertising out of this, so maybe everybody wins (especially the sandwich itself).
