Default Have you heard of the Mel Allen COA scam? - came from Roaches

Got an e mail from someone who "needed money to pay his child's medical bills."
That is really what he said.
He had some great names for sale,,, Young, Bender, Munson, Foxx, Robinson, Johnson and a few more. Said he had bought them over the years.
Some of them had a letter on Mel Allen stationery stating that these items were originally the property of famed sportswriter Ken Smith.
He sent me pictures of the items.
Here are the Bender and Young with the Mel Allen letters.
I will try to post others later on.
Beware if anyone offers you great items with a Mel Allen letter.
I was just told that the Mel Allen letters were on that highly regarded auction house that we call Roaches.
Wonder if the guy offering them to me was a buyer or was he the consignor.

Man, those roach balls are pretty easy to spot. Must be that the autographs can usually be seen "from across the room!"

I have to ask: Am I seeing the year of 1968 on the Allen letters?

What a sad, sad joke all around.

Roaches, you would think that your boys might be getting better over time. But apparently they are not. And you don't even care.
