Default Walter Johnson - recent pickup

Posted By: Joe D.

Thought I would share this pickup with the memorabilia board...

Absolutely one of my all-time favorite pickups!

The provenance is just awesome -
Both items came from Walter Johnson's own scrapbooks.

1909 Santa Ana All Starts Real Photo Postcard
and
1909 'Johnson Day' - program cover - Association Park, Santa Ana

Joe, very nice, that program is spectacular. Is there anything special inside? I like the Cracker Jack Johnson you upgraded. That's one of the all-time cards ever.

Thanks for sharing.
Clint

I did see a full program... but I did not take note of the inside (I should have).

The item I have is just the program cover.

It is a front cover cut-out, and the date was cut from another panel of the program and pasted on the top portion - and then it became part of Walter Johnson's own scrapbook.

At some point, if I can get a scan of the whole program I will post it.

edit to say: clint - thanks for the kind words about the CJ upgrade.... just one thing... the CJ Johnson is not 'one of'... it is 'the' all-time greatest card ever created (just my humble / biased opinion)
