Default Val Decker / Orcajo Postcards

Posted By: Paul

I recently was the happy winner of this Val Decker postcard of Lombardi.

The seller now has a second one on ebay.

I noticed that the second one has the name "Orcajo" stamped on the back. Mine doesn't. Is this a normal variation? Do you think it's anything to be concerned about? Thanks.

By the way, mine does have the little white number printed in the lower right hand corner of the front. It's just tough to see in the scan.

Default Val Decker / Orcajo Postcards

I believe that all of these post cards were made by Obcajo Photo Art of Dayton, Ohio. Some were distributed bt Val Decker Packing Co.

Default Val Decker / Orcajo Postcards

Mine (which is available for sale) is the sepia version with NO Val Decker advertising on the front, "Ernie Lombardi" in outlined font and the Orcajo denotation on the back. Apparently they come in a few variations.

Default Val Decker / Orcajo Postcards

I got home and looked at my Standard Catalog. It says that the ones which say Metropolitan Clothing on the front don't say Orcajo on the back. But it is silent about the backs of Val Deckers. If anyone can confirm that Val Deckers legitimately come with and without Orcajo marked on the back, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
