Default La Pizza Royale 70's Expos

Does anyone know what year these are? The cards are more red than the scan is showing. Are the blue ones a different year? Sounds like something from a Tarrantino movie..La Pizza Royale.

Wow, that is really red. My guess is they are from 1971, as Marv only had one full season with Montreal in 1970. He did play 6 games for them in 69, so there is a chance they are from 70. Coco played from 69-73...

Also be aware these were a collectors' issue, produced solely for sale within the hobby.

Default Thanks

I found the write-up in the SCD. I did not see it yesterday when I first looked.

I just assumed there was a pizza parlor in Montreal that delivered the cards with pizza.

No wonder the name sounded like a made-up name, since they sound like they were essentially homemade cards.

We will probably have quite a few of these in our next auction, in a group, starting very low....if anyone is interested. We are going to have a lot of off the wall stuff, later years than normal, from an old hobby collection. So you post war and regional guys should have some fun. Next auction starts on the 25th of this month. We won't have a preview up before a few days before the auction.
