Picked up this Piedmont Art Stamp of Zach Wheat. I have collected Zach for over 30 years and this is the first one I have ever seen. Only 3 have been graded so I was very happy to pick this one up. Has been on my want list for a long time.

Just got these cards, which includes a Dots Miller silk to add to my player collection. Also got a Rip Sewell rookie..I guess? Can a matchbook be a rookie? The rest are the 1941 Double Player Pirates team set, and I bought the Klinger throwing pose separate on purpose because who wants a Cubs player in my Pirates team set.

Been on a nice HOF run

nethof.jpg

Jennings / portrait is somewhat interesting that it one would figure it "should" (150/350 print group) have a Sov.150 back, but does not. A candidate for an 150 early pull replacement ???

Also a BIG, BIG Thanks to Charlie (the exterminator) for a grand deal on Hindu Dahlen / Boston. Gave me another tough Hindu, and allowed me to pass on my EPDG example to some guy that collects EPDGs !!!!!!!

Fun Stuff, Scott

Awesome Kenny! I got my first Piedmont Art Stamps this month too. I'm happy calling this Cy Barger my Brooklyn type card until (if) a better one comes along. They've been tough to find.

gorgeous! I was thinking about dealving into the Piedmont Art Stamps once I completed the Helmar Stamp set...your example really gets my juices flowing and makes me think that I should start on that set sooner!!

As for the Helmars, I only have 23 remaining of the 180 total! Here are my pick-ups from late December/early January thanks to Net54 members who were willing to help me out:

Oh, and Ed, I still think your pursuit of the rebuilt Howe McCormick stamp collection is the unofficial set focus of the entire Net54 community. It's by far the most interesting endeavor!

I don't have a collecting budget for awhile. I am all tapped out -- went way beyond my comfort zone here. Felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime find.

Thank guys!

Paul - I agree 100%. The WaJo portrait gets a lot of attention, rightfully so. However, IMO, the Matty portrait is every bit as stunning.

Leon - nice T205's. Love the eye appeal.

Help, I've fallen into the 19th century trap!
I've dabbled in the sepia before but I'm really loving OJs right now.

This is one of a few January pickups for me. Waiting on a few more to arrive.

Beautiful looking OJ Andy, congrats! Have you advanced to a decision on how you might attack 19th century cards?

Thank you.
No, no battle plan. Right now It's what catches my eye and is in my budget range.
One OJ I did just snag is the humurous Nicol/Reilly (long and short) card which is one I've wanted for a while. I'll post a pic of it when it arrives.

Just got these in today. Thanks Jerry!

The Donovan is the only example I know of. I have also not been able to confirm it with a Nadja back, so this will work as a nice substitute. I am aware of only 2 Crawford's and this is by far the nicer of the 2. Crawford is also 1 of 2 HOFers I know exist with the red back. It is also a nice placeholder until I can find a Nadja for my set.

Default Interesting item

This pair of cuff links was owned by Jack Bickett, who played with the Eau Claire Braves when they won the Northern League Championship in 1955.

I couldn't pass this one up. Looks so good. Back surface looks like minor ink smudging happened. I love picking up low graded CJs that look killer.
