Default 34 Gehrig (Mission Accomplished)

I am not getting much traction in the BST area for attempting to purchase a 34 Goudey Gehrig #37, so my question is, what's a decent price on this card if it's middle of the road for its grade in PSA 2 and PSA 3 (or equivalent SGC).

I fear I may have to go the eBay route...

You might expand your search to include the '34 World Wide Gum Gehrig. It is a scarcer card but the price isn't much different.

Default range

For a nice 2 I think you are looking at around 800-1000.....they are on the bay for a tiny bit more but I bet one of those sellers would sell at that amount... (this link is not my card but is just an example)

With some patience you should be able to find a nice "3" grade (VG) in the 900-1100 range, paying in the higher range if the card is crease-free. A decent looking PSA 4 sold back in April by PWCC for $1550. Good luck with your search -- with patience, you will be able to find a nice copy in the grade for which you're searching.

Mission Accomplished!

Thanks to all who posted and IMed. I was able to get this one off of eBay at the low price (which I think was good for how it looks).

Congratulations! That is a nice Gehrig. I think that the 1934 Goudey #37 is the best looking Gehrig card that Goudey produced. That card is also the card that got me back into collecting vintage baseball cards in 2008!

Congrats!

The opening quote on the back of the card, while genuine Lou Gehrig, is also bittersweet and sadly ironic. Lou definitely deserved to be in there batting them out for many years to come.
