Looking for any items of my great grandfather. Had mediocre career with 1913-1916 Yankees, 1918 Pirates. Thanks.

Do you have any items from him or cards yourself. I checked him out on Google, he lived a long life. Must have told you stories about that time in baseball.

Hi Matt,

Got your earlier post and have some info for you. I was surfing ebay and found 2 items with your relative Lute on them. I also have one piece of memorabilia with both of our relatives on it. Fun

Ken

If you want to give me a call, I can explain what I found.

The number is 520-572-7888

Hi Matt,

Looked up the years that you relative played. Uncle Elmer was a team mate in 1915 and 1916. interesting.

Matt- there's nothing mediocre about playing with the Yankees for four seasons, even for a cup of coffee player. What an honor to have a great grandfather who wore the pinstripes.

Hi Matt,

Go to ebay and type in Boone Yankees. There is an autograph available. Don't know if there is a way of varifying the signiature or not. I see is nickname was Danny. I wish I could find a signiature from my relative. I do have quite a few cards however.

Ken

Hey whoa! wait a minute! He was a Pirates player who started with a different team! He was born in Pittsburgh and thats where he passed away.I doubt playing for the Yankees was the highlight of his career since they were in their 16th season in 1916 without a first place finish and the Pirates had 3 straight 1st place finishes while he was a young pup and a world series title when he was getting into pro ball

Thanks! He played against and with some of the greats. Being an "average" player makes it hard to find him on many items.

Didnt have much time since Im ready to go out the door, but the first set I looked at has a Luke Boone. The 1914 B18 Blankets. There are 2 color variations. They are one of the cooler items from the era, especially for a non card collector, and a mid grade example shouldnt cost you more than $20, and Im sure a few B18 Boones will show up on ebay from time to time.

Here is an example pic of a B18

Edited to add that there have been 2 Boones on ebay in last 2 weeks
