John, that's cold, I'm sure Scott's not that goofy looking behind the plate. Cold, but not as Cold as the beer I'm sipping on waiting for the 45 guest to show up for the 4th feast&fireworks. Happy 4th to all, as we remember the spirit of the founding fathers, especially Jefferson & Adams who both passed away on the 4th. be well brian

despite an intense respectful dislike for one another, they managed to put away their differences and both croak on this important day.

I guess it would take a Canadian to point this out to you, BUT the declaration of independence was not signed until August 2, 1776, although the resolution of independence was passed by the Continental Congress on July 2, 1776 (not a typo).

NO Elliot, we know when the document was signed, but we celebrate the holiday on the 4th anyway. Do you think Canadians know more about American History than we do? You might know more than the liberal schooled morons of today, but I will match my knowledge of American History against any canuck. I will admit we Americans know very little if anything about Canadian history, or hockey for that matter. As email is very impersonal, Elliot, I hope you don't take the tone of my posting as offensive or rude, I'm laughing as I post. Be well to all on this Independence Day.
By the way, when is Canada's independence day?

...from Quebec once they had beat them in the population race? I find it hilarious that they forced Quebec to change all their stop signs to read in French, when the ones in France actually say "Stop" in English. What a hoot.

Yeah, I know my history pretty well too, but I confess that the July 2 thing had completely slipped my mind.

Canada Day is celebrated on July 1st the anniversary of Canada becoming an independent country. Of course, our independence was given to us, we didn't have to fight for it, and it took another 91 years----typically Canadian. Brian---no offense taken, but just look at how well Canadians do on Jeopardy.

Sam Donaldson is EASILY the biggest moron on t.v. news, or any other kind of news. Ok, he's the biggest moron, period.

Don't much care for the latter, but given the imminent collapse of the Los Angeles County healthcare system (they're like some unholy multimillions in the hole, the state just told them to $*&^ off because of its own budget deficit, and Bushie lost the state by 1.6 million votes in 2000 so Federal help is not happening) under the weight of so many illegal and indigent patients, I'm not so sure that a true public health system wouldn't be better than the chaos we've got now.

OK. Back to cards, you well-rounded people.
