August Pick ups
Well I did not see a thread for the month yet, so figured I would start one. Hard to believe no one got anything at the national to post.

splurged on an ungraded 1953 topps complete set.
 will probably send in for PSA grading. Getting this was always a dream. I remember when I was a kid getting an archive reprint of the 1953 Willie Mays card...and thinking to myself maybe one day I could get the real thing.

Program and stub from Luis Tiant’s mlb debut (9 inning complete game 3 hit shutout against whitey ford and the yanks). A friend got both signed for me sunday at the white plains show with the inscription “mlb debut”

This was fun:
 I bought some junk wax including a box of 2013 Panini Golden Age, just to rip some stuff (every so often you have to rip wax, you know?). Anyhow, I pulled a redemption card for this card and figured WTF, so I entered it into the Panini redemption program and the system accepted the code. Apparently, Panini will honor old redemptions. Took about four months but the card arrived last week. It retails for about $180, so not bad on a $14 junk wax box. Also yielded this in the box:
