Default Jeter autographs

I have a ticket I 'need' to have signed by Derek Jeter. I have never attempted to get anyone to autograph anything since I've been an adult. Is it possible, and if so, how? I didn't pay much for my ticket and I've offered $290 to a dealer for a poorer example signed by Jeter and been rejected.

Here's the piece I made an offer on. Was I way out of line? His price seems high, but I know nothing about this stuff: Jeter signed ticket

Thanks in advance <===modern autograph rookie

Steiner used to do a few jeter signings a year. Prices are like 750 for a flat

Might seem high, but Mariani rivera was signing first $325 and sold out in a few hours, much to my disbelief

The "Last Opening Day Ticket"?

Seems like a nothingburger milestone and not an aesthetically pleasing ticket. I think you were right... I would not pay more than $290 for it.

$290 was a fair offer for that ticket . I would have accepted the offer if I was the seller

I agree with Steve. The milestone is being exaggerated to increase the perceived value.
I agree that $290 is more than fair for that ticket. Unfortunately, if you really want that specific ticket signed, it might be cheaper to buy it from him than to get yours signed. All the private signings I have seen in the past few years have been $500-600 for a flat.

Jeter isnt an exclusive with Steiner Sports anymore, and it will probably be a while until he does a private signing for someone. People have gotten him in person a lot during Marlins ST and some home games. Your best bet would be to do a consignment with a reputable autograph chaser.

Thanks everyone - your input is much appreciated.

I own the 'home plate' from that series in Houston. I agree that it wasn't a milestone event for Jeter. As a Houston fan I bought it because Jeter, Ichiro and Altuve all scored on it, and Nolan Ryan threw out the first pitch. As Houston home plates go, that was all great to me.

I have it displayed very nicely, along with one of the fancy color tickets. Getting Jeter's autograph on the ticket would be a good start to my various display options. $290 for the cheaper ticket was pushing it - I was almost relieved that he rejected it.

What I'll probably end up doing is getting single signed balls from all four mentioned above, and displaying two on each side of the bottom point.

I heard that Jeter has an agreement with Topps which makes sense the last few years Jeter Autos have been most of the High end offerings from topps. Aside from that I heard he was very tough in Miami . As for the ticket on Ebay it is tough to get a Steiner Jeter for $290 on any item. I too have a couple milestone tickets I would love signed and I will carry with me next year during Spring Training I will update if I have any luck.

You can’t be too cautious these days. If more collectors had your approach, the hobby would be in much better shape.

There is also a Steiner hologram on the back of the ticket. However, it does not have a serial number tying it to the card.

I think it’s legit, but it never hurts to ask the questions.

So here's a Jeter-signed PSA-authenticated ticket from Jeter's last season at Yankee Stadium, AND the seller is accepting offers. I really don't get the other one's price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PSA-AUTHENI...M/132755406183

Scott, check out my below Derek Jeter 1996-circa autograph on a 1996 ticket.

I'll be sending it to BAS this Tuesday.

F*ck Jeter! $750 to sign a photo? Paid to a guy who made $20M+/year for the longest time? How f*cking greedy and ungrateful can one get?

I may have picked up part of the trifecta a few minutes ago - $9.95 in an antique store. Oddly a Budig ball.

Very cool, he had such a neat autograph when he first got here.

As thrilled as I was to find the above ball today, I just found a ball that was signed by Jeter on April 1, 2014, the first game that my home plate was used for.

Just down to a signed Altuve ball and I'm calling it good on this display.

What do you guys think of this Jeter? Got it at an auction yesterday along with about 50 other baseballs, about 20 bats and books full of signed cards.

Default my opinion.

I've never seen Jeter sign like that ^ ...…..unless, maybe, he was running while signing? Seems way too sloppy to me........Matt

I'm pretty sure I've seen this autograph before, but it is not Jeter.

Thanks. The major authenticators, as well as MLB, have signed off on a wide range of styles so i would rather get his in person or through JSA 'witnessed'.

Agreed - that Jeter is terrible. Dan, I bet with an hour to practice you could do a better one.

Altuve has done shows in Houston before. And he will almost certainly again. I would be patient and wait. only problem with waiting is he keeps piling up stats... He is a good ballplayer.
