Default Someone listed some pretty darn rare OJ's on Ebay

Posted By: Don J

Don't know if anyone has ever dealt with this guy before: "Cardsold"; but he's got some pretty fantastic and RARE OJ's that many people will never have the opportunity to see. Of course the prices are astronomical but they are nice to drool over anyway. PS. Leon, this is not an intentional plug for this guy's auctions, I just thought others might like to see some of these incredibly tough cards as well.

They are not exactly priced to sell. Will any of them move?

His name is Norris. Older fellow out of Washington State. Been around forever and pops up on Ebay now and then with very high prices. He is a legitimate player but I would caution some of his OJ's have the same look on the top borders...

John is correct. Although we live on opposite sides of the country and have never met face-to-face, from 1998 until 2001 I was probably Norris' closest (only?) friend. He is a uniquely solitary individual, but mutual interests in cards brought us together. We are not on good terms now (his choice, not mine) and the reason can be summed up in one word - McPhee.

Some of you may recall him selling Old Judges on ebay back in the early 2000s. Many of those cards were from a deal I steered him towards that allowed him to buy a lot of 375 from a gentleman in Texas. In return Norris sold me some of the cards from the lot. One of the cards he sold me was Bid McPhee.

I purchased that particular card in February of 2000. Not too long after, McPhee was named to the Hall of Fame. After Norris saw some other McPhees come to market and the prices they commanded, he accused me of all sorts of evil doings as if I had used my crystal ball to foretell the future and tricked him into selling the McPhee card to me. Needless to say, our relationship has been sour ever since.

There are other board members who have dealt with Norris one-on-one and I'm sure they could also chime in on his character and reputation as Bob already has. Other than what I have already offered I am going to follow the advice my mother gave me - If you can't say anything nice about a person, don't say anything at all.

edited for spelling

He is known to be very eccentric. He used to be on my mailing list but I don't believe we ever did any business.
