Am I off in my thinking? I'd expected the Lajoie '33 Goudey to be higher. We're coming up on 5 hours left in the auction, and it sits at $27,000.

Really? I was thinking it was already too expensive at 32k for the grade.
Could probably pick up an sgc 84 for around the same

Good luck to everyone involved.

That's a pretty bad ass '52 Mantle in the auction (not my card).

This is also a blazer

Just got all of my bids in today. Unfortunately, I have already been outbid on all so will be sitting this one out. At least, it's an early night's sleep for me........

Good luck to everyone.

Outbid on my only lot. Currently the under bidder on the Nacionales Andy Cooper card. I never waiver from my original max bid. So, until next time...

That is a really nice card of a very tough hall of famer. Not much Andy Cooper material out there.

I was close to pulling the trigger on one more bid for Andy at about 3am, but I have my eye on a different card right now. The Torriente and Cooper are gorgeous cards and much nicer than their technical grades!

I had consigned 21 items and was pleasantly surprised with the hammer prices on about five of them, met expectations for most others, and was horribly disappointed with two. I would say that this was a successful auction based on my consignment experience.

Thanks Al!

WOW! What an amazing auction! I was VERY impressed with some of the final
hammer amounts I saw. Al, seriously I don't know how you're going to outdo
this one in the future. Yes, I did consign a few pieces (there was one I was
really sad to see go), but with the all-color catalog, and the great write-up Al
did on my piece - and oh yeah the amount the card sold for I was VERY HAPPY
with the overall experience.

With a level of nervousness and a bit of excitement my wife and I spent the
evening watching the post auction bidding take place. What a concept: making
money instead of spending it, what a great way to spend a Saturday night! ;-)

Hope everyone had as good a time and did as well as I did!

Thanks again, Al.

Default Half

I went 1/2 with a huge difference...
The lot I was the underbidder on was almost 5x the hammer price than the other.
So the one win was a lower priced item, the one loss was an expensive one.

Even us West Coast guys need sleep, so I would have had some self-debate on whether to go higher on the big lot, but I was snoring...so now I have money for something else

Absolutely great auction though, super selection and price ranges for all of us.

I am going to place the blame on Canada Post.

All catalogs were mailed on October 15. That said, I'm going to try and mail earlier next time.

5/11, but two of the losses were marque lots I wasn't really serious about- just didn't want to be the guy that missed out on half price Lajoie if the sky had fallen in after the 2nd hour of bidding.

Auction ended in the wee morning hours of 11/2/14, I received in the mail on 11/5/14. Doesn't get much better than that. You sure know how to make a small fish feel big, thanks Al!
