O/T - does anyone know the last time a single team had back-to-back League MVP players (two different guys)?

With Chase Utley leading the league in BA, 17 HR and possibly a MLB record for doubles in a season, just thought it MAY be a possibility...?

Who was last team to have two back to back MVP's with diff players... Thanks. Jeff J

Last time in the NL was 1978-1979 when Dave Parker was followed by Willie Stargell (shared with K. Hernandez).

Last time in the AL was 1998-1999 with Juan Gonzalez followed by Pudge.

It's actually happened fairly often. In fact at least 4 times (twice in each league), teams have gone for three in a row with three different players. I think the last was Maris, Mantle and Elston Howard in 1961, 1962, and 1963.

Utley is a phenomenal player to say the least.
Keep in mind, he's missed upwards to 30 games
this year due to injury as well.
Think what his stats would look like if he hadn't.

The last time it happened in the NL(and the majors) was 2000-2001 with Jeff Kent and Barry Bonds
