When I really really really want a card, I will sometimes enter a LARGE snipe. I have seen the term 'NUCLEAR' snipe used. I now see what happens when another man thinks the same way...........when two big bids collide, hahahahaha.

i never sold a baritrome.....do you really think 1700 was too high for a Basgall? It listed with Heritage now and a buyer will pay at least that.i would think...unless Heritage is all shilled now. ..another basgall did sell at Heritage in December.....

i think you were joking about price being too high...but wanted to clarify

by the way the last PSA 8 black BAck Combs sold at PWCC (may say most of their cards are shilled and prices higher than normal in other threads.) sold for $306 on 11/8/15.. FYI

I find it odd that you mention a bidding war on a 52 Evers questioning whether it is worth it and you are selling a card that is sky high because some schmoo overpaid for one in Heritage.

well a bidding war was against 2 people that i am talking about.......if there are 5 bidders over a certain price range i would think that price range is reasonable....i question it when its just 2 people 40% over the 3rd persons high bid..

i dont think the Basgall card is sky high..i was offered 1500 a few times...if you were to offer 600 for the card one could say you are lowballing..

if the card sells at heritage last December for 2100 including BP and sells again and again for close to 1700 or more..are they all schmoo's overpaying...eventually you would think its market price.....go and find a PSA 8 Basgall black back for less ...though i think there are only 13 of them or so..and many are in sets .

i think its pretty unfair for you to say i was asking a sky high price when your only evidence is that the card sold for more in december but it was from some 'shmoo'

Excuse me, I meant schmoos. You taut the black back like its some sort of rarity when in fact nothing in my research there is no discernible difference in red or black. Good luck in your sale.

A pair of Schmos are Schmeese?

One hippopotami cannot get on a bus,
Because one hippopotami is two hippopotamus.

And if you have two goose, that makes one geese.
A pair of mouse is mice. A pair of moose is meese.

A paranoia is a bunch of mental blocks.
And when Ben Casey meets Kildaire, that's called a paradox.

When two minks fall in love, with all their heart and soul,
You'll find the plural of two minks is one mink stole.

Singulars and plurals are so different, bless my soul.
Has it ever occurred to you that the plural of "half" is "whole"?

A bunch of tooth is teeth. A group of foot is feet.
And two canaries make a pair--they call it a parakeet.

A paramecium is not a pair.
A parallelogram is just a crazy square.

Nobody knows just what a paraphernalia is.
And what is half a pair of scissors, but a single sciz?

With someone you adore, if you should find romance,
You'll pant, and pant once more, and that's a pair of pants!

Default red and black

availability in any grade does not always correlate to availability in high grade. there are plenty of 1952 topps commons, and not just high numbers i would gladly pay 1800 for in psa 8 grade. And there are some i would not pay $200 for in psa 8 i don't see his price as high. it is not low either, seems around market level to me.
