Yes, you did notice that these threads have been divided by religious denomination. Does somebody know how do merge them? That way, we can all live in harmony.

Happy holidays to all! Here's to a fruitful, and card-filled new year.

And now for something completely different....star wars in 2 minutes. Enjoy

Wishing a Happy Holidays to all is my non-denominational way of saying "Have a safe and enjoyable holiday season."

By the way, we're all kind of similarly religious about our passion for vintage baseball card board. Some of us just happen to be collectors of a lesser god... (just a joke and not meant to be sacriligious).

Peace to All!

about 15 times (and enjoyed it every time), that's priceless! But what? No bar scene? "Sorry about the mess..."

Yes, Leon, get Brian (Shammus) to merge the two threads...if possible

"Better her than me!""'She's rich'....'HOW rich?'"...."No, I'm not dead, not yet..." "Help us, Obi Wan Kenobi; you are our only hope..." " You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany." "'You don't need to see his passport*; he can go about his business'...'I don't need to see his passport*; he can go about his business'" "Sorry about the mess." "Let the Wookie win." "Good against remotes is one thing..." "She's the ship that did the Kessel Run in 39* parsecs" (misuse of "parsec"--a unit of space, not of time)..."Kinda short for a Stormtrooper*, aren't you?" "Use the Force, Luke..." "Stay on target!" "Yahoo! O.K. Kid, let's blow this thing and get out of here!"

*asterisks indicate possible wrong word; I did NOT use the 55,000 quotes on that Google movie webite--not once!

"May the Force be with you..."

(did finally go to the Google website--I made LOTS of mistakes, but I didn't correct any of them)

I had Christmas Eve dinner with a population that included Catholics, Lutherans, Jews, a Hindu from India (who has a Budhist daughter, not present) and an athiest. The only time there was offense at the table was when someone disrespected Mike Ditka in the presence of a Illinois resident

Season's Greetings Board Members! Funny that you mention Star Wars as I just finished up what looks like Star Wars III (the one with the Sith's) ten minutes ago. It was good, not great. Can't beat the original and Empire though IMO. Can't beat the Star Wars gif so this is the best I can do.

Barry Slote: I too wish that we could talk baseball cards with no regard to profession, religion, criminal record, sexual orientations, nor other characteristics which define our individuality. To wit:

I noticed too December 24 2005, 1:08 PM

I am not sure Barry why persons feel compelled to identify themselves by their profession, religion, or other traits. But it seems that Jews, Lawyers and more recently the (far less desireable) Bankers have been coming out of the closet.

************************************************** **********************

Back in the closet all of you, I say!
I do not reveal the method of spousal abuse which I prefer.
Nor do I identify the the type of drugs which I find most profitable to peddle.

Please do not encumber me with your own trivial differences, and lets get on with it.

Edited to add, jocularly:
I mean no intense offended, but does anyone have a verifiable photograph of any of them with their hands in their own pockets?

Josh, I'm in Washington State, but the dinner included people from Wisconsin and Illinois (so close, yet so far).

On religious or any other grounds. I posted at 5:30 am (for me) and in my hazy sleepy state missed the other one.

David,
Oh ok, thanks. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Kudos to you for breaking bread with Wisconsinites! But isn't that what the holiday is all about? People coming together?!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and received everything they asked for.

Josh, I know you're going to hold this against me, but I have to be honest. I was born and raised in Wisconsin as a Green Bay Packers fan. Though I can assure you it wasn't me who said anything about Mike Ditka at dinner. I'm culturally sensitive, as I attended an integrated grade school that admitted children of Illinois pro sports fans. We were taught to not blame the child because the Cubs suck. It took another generation before the school admitted kids of Dallas Cowboy fans.
