Default What exactly is this???

What exactly is this???How much are they worth? How much would I have to spend to get one? And are there any ways to tell real from fake (because I suspect they would be easy to fake)?

Thanks
Travis

Would like to buy one!!

A pencil is supposed to be put into the open slot...and they have been reissued. There are many known repros of these pencil holders.

Yes- it's a Satchel Paige Pencil Clip. I know little about them, other than they were originally made for ther Indians, and one other team (can't recall which... Browns perhaps).

As Barry said, there are reproductions out there that may be more prevalent than the real ones. I do not know specifically what to look for, in terms of tell-tale signs. Many are probably artificially "aged" to appear old.

If Rob D. sees this, I am sure he can easily address what to look for in determining authenticity, as well as value. Paige would figure to be the most valuable (as well as the most copied, I'm guessing).
