Maybe this is what caused what you now consider a high jack
What Al said plus unless it is a crap home printer fake most believe vintage cards to be the real deal.

The DS cards are easily among the top 10 faked/altered cards of all time. Yes they don't sell for thousands of dollars but you can turn a worthless common into a card that sells for a few dollars. I usually avoid them because I have no clue what is real and what isn't.

Easy.

I didn't say the thread was hijacked because it hasn't been hijacked...I just said it was odd that such a focus has been put on the least valuable cards I found...I think is says one of two things...either this community is really interested in DS cards in general, or this community is hyper sensitive when it comes to looking for/assuming cards are fake...not judging either way, just an observation.

And you are correct, I did ask for help on the sealed boxes...which a couple of posters offered their advice on. And for the record, I did open 5 of them so far...all regular issue, no vintage inserts yet either lots of Larry Jones rookies though

Nothing AT ALL to apologize about...I asked a question about the boxes & you helped (thank you BTW!), and there were some links posted for those that had questions about authenticity.

Just the 57 and 62 mantles will get you a bundle in the current mantle market.

Had another HUGE score yesterday at an Estate Sale...There were some Vintage Pennants and H&B bats pictured...didn't end up with either of them, but I did score a ziplock bag with "50's & 60's Baseball Cards" for $48

Decent Haul I'd say

The '67 Mantle, '68 Clementes, '68 Mays are all getting PSA'd for sure...expect 6's & 7's on them, the rest are likely 5s & down

If anyone has any knowledge on what the Hawthorne Musial 'card' is (It is about 1/2" larger all around than a standard card, printed on thick, but not cardstock paper) I'd appreciate it...My hunch is it is a card that came with the Glove, but my research has turned up nothing...front/back of that one is pictured

The 67 Mantle is a variant of sorts, recurring red dot above the S in Yankees. The card can also be found with a red dot in the upper right front border, and with no red dot. Not sure which version is the scarcest, but none are hard to find.

Default Net54 community rule

Since you haven’t posted a lot in the past, I am not sure if you are aware but there is an old rule that can be found in the archives of this site somewhere about estate sale hoard finds. The rule is that the find should be shared for free with any community member who has shown an interest by posting on the thread.

I don’t need much though, one of the Mantles would satisfy me.

Tony

Will post a photo after I pick it up, but my LCS just called saying my '67 Mantle was back from PSA....7.5!

Pretty stoked, the rest of the order should be back in a couple of weeks!
