Default Boxing Tintypes?

I obtained this odd photo a while back. My son thought it was three guys playing 'rock, scissors, paper', but I think it's two guys in a boxing pose, with a third as the referee:

Looks like a boxing pose, which was common for men to take back back then.........but they do not appear to be "boxers".

I didn't think they were actual professional boxers, but I've seen a lot of tintypes and never men posing as boxers - can you post images of other tintypes of men posing like this? Thanks.

This may indicate that this is pre Marquess of Queensbury Rules, published in 1867.

Whatever, it's an interesting photo.

Must resist going into funny caption mode......

Google "boxing tintypes" = lots of images. Including the "don't drop your tobacco" rules pose.

Cool, thanks. You weren't kidding - I just googled 'boxing tintype', and as you both mentioned, there are zillions of them.
Your pic with the bound-brim wide-brim western hat on the floor reminds me - I located this tintype originally because I was searching for photos with 1800's hats.
