Default The Longest Quest

What's the longest amount of time you've ever spent searching for a card that you actually found in the end? I bet I've got you beat. I just picked up the Laughlin stand up of Tom Seaver for my Seaver collection. I've been looking for this for at least 30 years, maybe more. Here's a scan. It cuts off his feet because the card is so large.

Awesome card! Congratulations!!!!!! I have a Ruth from the set, but I decided that one example was going to be the best I could do.

I'm still trying to track down a 1970 Topps Cloth Sticker of "Seaver Wins Opener" (Playoff Game No. 1). I've still never seen one.

Default Next Quest

I have only one of the 70 Cloth, but the above poster, bobbsbbcards, has several .

Like the 51 unissued Current All Strar proofs, the 55 Stamps, the 60 unissued proofs/variations of Cimoli/Hadley/Throneberry, 61 Dice, 66 Punch Outs and 71 Rookie Artists Proofs, the 70 Cloth are seldom seen or heard from. Possibly like the 61 Dice, only one or two of each player on the likely still incomplete checklist exist

Looks like a beauty, Paul!!! You must feel a little lost now that a holy grail has been obtained! On the bright side, there are usually a few variations (My Seaver has an all white base, as I recall). You could extend this quest out another 30 years!

Oh, come on. Don't tell me that there are variations. I think I'll have to be satisfied with just one. But if you ever want to sell your Seaver, let me know.

Default quest

Thats a great feeling to finally land a card after that long, ..I also tend to think there are quite a few members who have searched and are still searching for a card for over 30 yrs..although in many cases..its an unrealistic search.... the 33G Lajoe, 61T dice cards,etc.. cards that cant be afforded..or are just too rare....yet the search continues....Ive been going to the small town 10 dealer table local show forever..looking for a 54B Ted Williams card..sometimes Im walkin in with 75 bucks in my pocket !..Im ready to buy...but never see the card there....goin on 30 yrs now..

Default 1961 Dice

I am a set collector, but on that issue have had to settle for one example, for the reasons you give
