After Goldin making so much noise over the consignment this thing ended pretty quietly. Saw it coming especially after the 2 auction date changes.

My guess, based on their rules for reserve auctions, is the house had the one and only bid.

I would be shocked if the only bid -- if there indeed was one -- was not Ken's bid or some entity he controls making the bid. No way a real person would bid $15 million and not get it. Onto the next circus for him.

I agree. He now has a price point of $15M in his back pocket for future buyers.

I can't imagine that anyone would fall for that. Though in this hobby anything is possible. No sane person is bidding $15 million for that.

Diamonds are appraised at 3x the price paid at a jeweler.

I don't believe that $15 million bid was real either. If it was then they should have accepted it and it would have been a Goldin success story. Hype a $3 million item for $36 million in order to get $15 million.

Reading the Hauls of Shame article seems like the contract may be stolen property and until that is cleared up anyone that buys it may ending up losing it since you can't convey good title to stolen property... To the lawyers on the board, are we correct about that?

End of the day that contract should end up in Cooperstown or the Smithsonian or back with the Dodgers to permanently "lend" it to one institution or the other or rotate it so everyone can enjoy it...
