Default Santa Monica Sportscards

Anyone been there? I'm in LA for work this week, and was wondering if it's worth checking out. Thanks.

Never heard of it. You may want to check out Porkey's while your here though.
(By the way, there's an excellent pizza joint right next door too!)

I think he's referring to Beverly Hills sports cards. Well worth checking out. Matt & Zack usually have a lot of vintage stuff to look over.

Just stopped by SM Sportscards. Not bad. Decent selection of postwar, maybe a little overpriced. The guys there recommended the Beverly Hills shop, too.

About 2 blocks north of Matt's shop on the other side of Robertson is All Star Sports cards. Haven't been there in a few years but at that time Richard had a bunch of E cards, along with some Wilson Franks, Dan Dee's, etc.

Porkey is an idiot, but JOE PEEPS PIZZA is a LANDMARK, Go for the pizza, stroll in Porkeys while you are waiting for your pizza, then leave.

Porkys moved two years ago to a horribly crowded little location in Tarzana...Joe Peeps is by far one of the best pizzas on the west coast though...

If you can get to Burbank Sportscards and talk up the owner, Rob, a bit, he has a ton of pre-war hiding in the back.

Valley Sportscards in Tarzana has been around forever and has a little pre-war, a lot of post-war, and a ton of non-sports and oddballs.

Beverly Hills is great and they always have a bunch of stuff.

That is about it...

Burbank Sportscards used to be one of the best stores in the country, in my humble opinion. I travel quite frequently and used to hit up local stores wherever possible, they were way up there.

But, these days you are asked to enter the cards you are looking for into a computer and they then go into the back to get the cards you have requested. They hate variations, and many aren't listed in their system.

I'm confident that their building contains the many of Topps cards that I am looking for, but unfortunately, I continue my quest without the ability to find out for sure.
