Default HELP: Who is this Houston Astro from 1965?

I am trying to ID the player on this Jet magazine cover. Please let me know if you can help. Lee Maye? Jim Wynn? Someone else?

I guess Lee Maye. Bond's face is more angular, Maye's is more rounded. Maye was 6-2, Bond was 6-7, but he is not that much taller than the ladies around him when on the stool.

Looks like Bond to me too. He's not standing but leaning or half-sitting, which distorts his height somewhat IMO.

I found a pdf copy of this magazine on google books.

http://books.google.com/books?id=pME...tput=html_text

I would have thought it would contain a photo credit for the cover in it but didn't locate one when browsing through. The article contains more pictures though and it does appear to be Bond on the cover.

The picture of Bond on Page 56 is a real good match for the cover photo. I'd wager it's the late Mr. Bond who passed on in 1967
