Question 1954 & 1955 Esskay Hot Dog cards....

Fellow collectors:
I am trying to get scans of the following 1950s Regional Meat and Hot Dog issues.
Here are the sets I am trying to get pictures of:
1953-4 Briggs
1954-55 Esskays
1955 Kahn's
1953-54-55 Hunters
1955 Felin's Franks

I will start with the Esskays that I need scans of.

1954 Esskays..........
Gil Coan
Jehosie Heard
Dick Kokos
Bo Bo Newsom (with lights)
Frank Skaff

1955 Esskays..........
Harry Byrd
Gil Coan
Joe Coleman
Bob Kennedy
Lou Kretlow
Bob Kuzava
Les Moss
Bo Bo Newsom
Hal Smith

I will post another set about once a week.
If you can help I really would appreciate it.
My e-mail address: lutherlafy@cox.net

Thanks,
Glen R. Turner, Jr.

Hi Glen,

I'm guessing you know this, but Huggins & Scott has 9-10 1953-54 Briggs Meats in their current auction. Not sure which ones you need, though.

Maybe this will help (the group of Briggs starts with this link):

Here is a scan of a 1954 Bo Bo Newsom which I believed to be without lights.
Also a scan of a 1955 Bo Bo Newsom showing the lights and tower. Is this not the same pose for the 1954 Newsom with lights?

Default Size?

It looks to me like the color scan ('54) is cut shorter at the top than the B&W of the '55. Don't collect or know much about these - just my observation.

1955 Esskay BoBo Newsom

To answer one question the 1954 is cut not showing any of the orange border.
The 1955 has oranger border all the way around it.

I believe it was in a 2007 Huggins & Scott auction to answer the other question.

slayank:

I now believe that there is only one 1954 Esskay Newsom, the one not showing the lights at the top.
The 1955 Esskay Newsom shows the lights at the top.
If you look real close at the 1954 & 1955 Duane Pillette cards you will notice they too are the same picture but cropped slightly different, also the autographs are placed differently on each year.
Have you noticed that on the 1954 Eddie Waitkus it has his birthday in 1919 and on the 1955 in 1920?

Any other similar observations by anyone?

How about any scans I need--can anyone out there help?
