Default breaking out t206 topps buybacks

Posted By: david Poses

i remember a post a while back about the topps buybacks and am wondering if anyone has tried opening them up and freeing the cards from the topps holders. i have been apprehensive about buying them for fear of damaging the cards. please share your experiences in performing surgery on these cards.
thanks
d

I did it just once and it was also long enough ago, that I'm not exactly sure how I did it. Think I cut through the plastic area and dropped the card out. Anyways, the card was fine upon exit.

Typically you pay a little premium to get one of those Topps206 cards. Why remove it? It's a great way to store and display a card.

I've cut out a few. Usually, I take a razor and cut down the middle of the edge and then pull the edge apart. I had a Topps 206 Oldring that I had to open because after I purchased it, I noticed there were two cards enclosed. I kept it that way for about a year. Finally, the suspense was too much, and surprise, it was another Oldring with the same pose.
