Default seeking opinions from jackie robinson signature experts

Posted By: ali_lapoint

hey guys,

i bought this piece about 10 or 12 years ago. i have always wondered if it was authentic or not. it's a jackie robinson signed magazine cut out. the magazine is from 1971, so if it is real it was signed soon before robinson died. this is the best picture i could get. i dont want to waste money on authentication fees so i was hoping some of you could give me their opinions.

thanks.

Default seeking opinions from jackie robinson signature experts

Guess I'm always Mr. Negative, but I don't feel too good about this one either. The big puffed-out 'J' in Jackie strikes me as particularly odd.

If I'm not mistaken, Jackie was largely relying on a ghostsigner at the end of his life, diabetes having ravaged his eyesight.

I suppose it's possible that the ghost signed the mag for him, as it does look like somebody was deliberately trying to duplicate his signature.
