A trivia-question post on the dark side of the board prompted me to dig out a ticket stub from Bob Feller's opening-day no-hitter. Because tickets and ticket stubs are among my favorite areas of collecting memorabilia, I'd love to see other stubs or full tickets from memorable sporting events. I'll scan and post a few more of my Indians ones later tonight. In the meantime, here's Rapid Robert's no-no:

Wow! Imagine seeing that historic bare-knuckled bout for $15! Then again, taking inflation into consideration, one wonders what $15 1892 dollars would translate into in today's economy. Either way, certainly not the kind of money that ringside seats fetch nowadays.

Not really a milestone ticket...Connie brought his boys in to town to play against the "kids". Amongst the "kids" in that game were Bobby Shantz and Nellie Fox.

My bad, guys. Perhaps I should have read the ticket in its entirety ! I'm not as up on my boxing history as I should be, but Sullivan was the last bare-knucked champ from what I remember. Wasn't that bout also against Gentleman Jim?
