Default 1926 M101-7 Babe Ruth Sporting News Supplements

Evening all,

I won this tonight on ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/38514671719...p2047675.l2557

I need some help in understanding how rare or scarce these are. I've read a bit about them on pre-war, but other than that and seeing none on SGC Pop report and only 4 on PSA Pop report (and the fact that I don't own anything from the Babe's playing days", I pulled the trigger.

I respect everyone's option and advice here and would love to know more/understand my gut purchase.

Not too worried about the price, but did I overpay/underpay?

Interested in learning more.

They are great "cards" that I believe are undervalued. The issue is slabbing. If they can be slabbed (I assume they can be) it is a huge piece of plastic that you can serve canapés on. 🤣

Default great deal!

I was watching that auction and I think you did well. I am not a Babe Ruth expert by any means, but that's a playing-days, fantastic image of the Babe in great condition - they don't come much nicer than that! Congrats on your pickup.

Nice pickup! I think few of these are graded due to their size. I have no idea as to rarity...but...had I seen it I'd likely have bid on it!!!! Looks to be in real nice condition!!!

I paid nearly twice as much for this one, so I'm inclined to think you got a great deal.

Looks like a great find.

So, the guy behind Ruth to the right - is he winding up to throw?

Default Ruth

It is an undervalued series from 1926/27. I have one as well and I think given Ruth prices it could be a 3/5K piece. Btw I won the Hornsby from the same Seller last night !

I always look at the weird ghost pitcher behind Ruth... can't ever focus my eyes on Ruth... they always go to the ghost.

Default Appreciate the feedback!

Appreciate the feedback everyone!

Like I said, it's my first Babe Ruth piece and for that alone, I'm pretty excited.

To give a little perspective, I've only begun my journey into pre-war baseball (and collecting in general) in just the last 6 months. I was a junk wax era kid that hadn't collected in over 20 years until Spring of this year.

More a comment for everyone here, but I have been super impressed with the community here. You all are not only an amazing source of information, but gracious in your help, advice and direction.

Thank you again for the feedback.
