Trying to reinvigorate this topic. Post what you've got or throw some questions around about early images.

Not new but....1869 cabinet photos of the Kearsarge Base Ball Club. Images are ID'd with the player's names and positions.

Wow! Those are awesome Rob...You have a very impressive collection of 19th century photographs. If I may ask, where did you happen upon that collection?

Here are some 1939 West Texas/New Mexico League photos...check out those field conditions. Is it any wonder they put up huge batting statistics in that league?

No doubt...those are sweet Rob. Here is my imperial cabinet of the Detroit Athletic Club, 1890 United States AAU champions. Damaged(not by me) and horribly photographed(by me), but I still love the damn thing 'cause I probably won't be finding another one.

The Kearsarge photos were from an auction several years ago. Luckily, so far, they have stayed together and haven't been broken up.

Interstingly, the photographer is "Kimball Bros.". It so happens that one of the player's name is Kimball which probably explains why such effort was undertaken to photograph these players.

By the way Dan, you gotta love those photographs from on top of the building ("Hey, where can we go to grab some shots of you guys in your uniforms?").

The WTNM photos came from one of the players...I have about 30-40 more of them. I'm guessing they were staying at a hotel in some small Texas town and decided to take photos.

Great shots, Dan!

Remember when you could meet the players outside the ballpark?
(And kids could afford to get in, too.)
