Default Help with Jack Johnson photo

Hi, All,
I just picked up this photo of the Jack Johnson-Willard fight in 1915. I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out its origins, date, value, etc.
There is considerable silvering around the edges, and with the copyright of 1915 printed in the negative, I am guessing that it is a period photo, maybe printed in 1915, maybe a few years later? What throws me is that it is an 8x10, which strikes me as rather large for a press photo.
Has anyone seen this photo, in this format? Any idea when it might have been printed and for what purpose? I did not spend too much on it and don't plan to sell right now, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea of valuation.
Many thanks as always for any help.
Brian

Can you post a larger image using the actual tone of the photo, of both the front and back of photo?

Hard to tell much from the posted image, though my first impression is that it's likely a later generation print.

Thanks. Tried to post a larger image, but upload failed. I will try again later.

I also meant to mention that the photo was printed on double-weight paper, heavy stock almost like cardboard.

It looks old, but indeed may have been printed some time later. 8x10 is an unusual but not impossible size for 1915.

Here's both sides of that scene....hard to tell from your photo but likely and old copy...probably worth $150.00 or there abouts...very famous fight so there would have been lots of photos of it...but you don't see them around too much...

Carlton,

Two posts above, the bottom image looks like an original, but they flipped the image when they printed it from the negative. It's not another angle, it's the same angle but reversed. I think most later prints you see of this image, is simply a more closely cropped image of that photo.

The larger Johnson / Jeffries photo you posted below that is spectacular.

I think the OP's version is probably a 1920's or 30's print that some news service bootlegged from another copy.
