Today would have been Joe Wood's 116th birthday, which is coincidently (perhaps) the number of games he won in his too short career as a pitcher.
(baseballreference.com says he won 117 http://www.baseballreference.com/w/woodjo02.shtml, while http://www.retrosheet.org lists 116
