Rob - John Adams has been known to let people take a turn at the drum if you were interested happy.gif

With these two, I'm hopefully down to only 3 more to go for my Addie Joss Game collection, if everything works out this week.

Yes, I second that the Voskamp's Coffee is a cool card. Nice offer on the back for tickets and they give you the cards back. I find it interesting that 3 catchers are listed in the set plus a complete 2nd team outfield yet no utility infielders. Thanks for posting.

Wow, thank you for the kid remarks on the Adams card. I am certainly very please with it, not only for its rarity but also condition.

Barry, this card makes for eight different Voskamps. So, I have either 10 or 12 to go (two players in the set were either severely short printed or not printed at all, in years of searching I have yet to see or hear confirmation on either of the two).

First Cobb, first Matty. Finally have a couple decent "cornerstones" for my very modest collection. Thanks, RayB and Cy.

Paul

I would say those are better than "decent" cornerstones and I am not sure you can refer to you collection as modest any more. happy.gif

I don't really understand grading and personally buy cards within my budget that have great eye appeal and that Cobb is an awesome "2".

Congrats

Would have edited my recent post but didn't want a dog's breakfast to result. Just wanted to add a note to Paul. Those are two great cards you posted. I would buy low grade, high eye-appeal cards all day long if I could. Good show!

I finally nab a T210 Greenville player, I know it's rough looking, but I'm hooked. Thanks to Dan Bretta for inspiring me to collect cards relating to my hometown/State, also curses to Dan Bretta's Cornhuskers who beat my Tigers in the Gator bowl. Thanks also to Matt W. for the Rhoades, via the B/S/T. (I just love that pose.)

If it makes you feel better Clemson fans get a lot of respect from me. I wasn't at the game, but there was nothing but class shown on the internet boards I frequent and I heard glowing reports from the folks who did go down to the Gator bowl about how great the Clemson fans were.

And I'm glad I inspired you to collect your home state. It's been very rewarding to me. Not to mention when you can get as excited about finding a Les Nunamaker card as you can a Ty Cobb your wallet will thank you.

edited to add: I'm glad Joe Jackson was born in South Carolina and not Nebraska happy.gif

thanks Jim...the only constant with me is change wink.gif...i get bored often, and re-focusing every so often keeps things fresh & exciting for me...i have a love/hate relationship with "The Monster". i'm a sucker for a really bold/vibrant high-grade example.

...my T206 collecting habits over the last 15 years looks like this:

Raw....Rare Backs....PSA 7, 8, 9....Rare Backs....Raw....PSA 7, 8

funny how things go in cycles.

I think I saw this exact card on the BST about 6 months ago listed for more than my high bid. What can I get with all the money I saved?

" I'm glad Joe Jackson was born in South Carolina and not Nebraska"

To paraphrase the immortal Ron Burgundy, "Stay classy,Dan Bretta"!

Yeah, Clemson people tend to trash our own team as opposed to our opponents,(unless we're playing South Carolina), good luck next year, and keep those wonderful Nebraska photos coming.

Jody, I'd love it if Nebraska could claim Joe Jackson as a native son, but my wallet wouldn't. That's what I meant with my edit above.

Dan,

I know you were just funnin me, I read that line and laughed, and the first thing that popped into my head was that Ron Burgundy quote.

I know Jackson is a "native son" and all,but I just dont share the interest in him that everyone else seems to. After reading "eight men out", along with a couple of Bill James' books, his desirability dropped considerably.

Good thing too, because my pocketbook definitely couldnt handle his stuff either.
