Here's a 1981 O-Pee-Chee Super #7 Wayne Gretzky jumbo card with a few goodies on the back!

Includes 15 signatures: Glenn Anderson, John Blum, Paul Coffey, Wayne Gretzky, Marc Habscheid, Charlie Huddy, Pat Hughes, Dave Hunter, Garry Lariviere, Ron Low, Kevin Lowe, Dave Lumley, Mark Messier, Andy Moog, Todd Strueby

This card was signed sometime during the 1982-83 season, the only year John Blum played for the Oilers (5 games)

Perhaps not my ideal example, but as it was literally the first one I have seen in the many years it's been on my list.....

Very nice, my friend. There was a low-grade Wilt Chamberlain that recently sold on eBay - did you see that one?

No I must have missed that one. I did see the PSA 6 Jerry West in REA that sold for almost 10K though. Yikes.

Still chipping away at my Parkhurst hockey sets. This "pin-holed" 1963 Henri Richard ebay pick-up was $4.20 delivered and I was happy to get it!

Look, if you are like me, and you are trying to complete your Parkhurst hockey sets, you will have to shop with the great dealers north of the border. Watch the "small" print that describe shipping costs. Watch if your snipes are US or Canadien currency. Don't watch your mailbox because it will take time. Patience grasshopper.
So I picked up 20 low grade hits to my pathetic 1952 full set attempt. All of these were auctions style listings, and I missed on at least twenty more. Total cost for the cards in US $44.93 and shipping $7.48 US total $52.41 or $2.62 per card delivered which is quite good I think. About 1/2 the cards suffer from slight back damage.
It took 24 days after payment to get the cards to me in Florida but I think it was worth the wait!

I like hockey and I like hockey cards. But I don't know much about the players. Recent eBay win 1960 Parkhurst #3 Johnny Bower arrived today now I need only five cards to complete this set. Card cost $4.52 but $4.48 to ship from north of the border. I was going to post that I might have overpaid a bit for this card, not much though (based on the low grade). But Johnny Bower is a Hall of Famer plus in 2017 he was voted one of hockeys greatest 100 players ever plus he lied about his age to join the military and served in WWII plus it's a pretty awesome card.

I don't know much about GMA cards but this one looked good and it was priced right.
I've been an Eberle fan since his World Junior days and seeing how he was playing in the 1st round against the Penguins, I thought I'd see if I could find his Young Guns RC at a reasonable price.

Based on my research this one is a genuine 1993 pack or redemption card and not, as so many of them are, signed later.

A couple recent wins that just arrived.

I was bidding on the more centered/colorful copy when I came across the second one. It also came with another Art Ross Trophy card, which I didn't need, but thought I had better bid in case I missed out on the 1st card. (All OPC cards)

Needless to say, I ended up winning both auctions, which I am pretty happy about.
Both cards look ex/mt to me but maybe the best one even higher as other than a slight corner touch on the top left, the card is perfect, imo.

So funny story on this one:

1925 Exhibit Champions Passaic HS basketball team w/HOFer Ernest Blood (coach, on the far left).

I had been collecting the 1925 Champions set for many years. I got to 31/32 cards with this one then spent a couple of years in limbo waiting for a final card which I did not even have the name of. Turns out it was a pool player named Ralph Greenlief [sic: Greenleaf]. Eventually I decided to sell off the set except the Ruth. Less than a year later I stumble across a group of them that has not only the Greenlief but this one too. The two toughies of the set. So I bought it because there are so few known examples.

ETA: Flipped them already.

I continue pursuit of these early Parkhurst cards adding seven hits '55-'56 set also a '57-'58 Ted Sloan and a '58-'59 Boom Boom Geoffrion. I still need a ton of 1951s but I'm closing in on a 1952-1963 full set run. I'm 87% complete with 695 cards out of the 799 needed. One card at a time!
