Default eBay help seller : Sportssurplus10

New to the forums and looking for a little help. Is anyone familiar with this eBay seller? Has sold a lot of autographed baseballs and some that sold for a very high price and has all good feedback from what I can find. One item I am interested in is a Johnny Bench autographed ball with a Steiner and MLB hologram. One of my concerns is that if you enter the hologram number into the mlb website it says it was signed in April of 2005. Also on their website it explains that the type of hologram that appears to be on that Bench ball is one that was used from 2006 on. I called a person from mlb but they couldn't give me an answer. Does anyone know if that hologram would still be used even though the dates are a little conflicting and does the ball and seller look legit.

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about the authenticity here, but I would worry about the quality of the autograph. If it's this faded now, what will it look like in another 5 years?

Agreed. Bench (and many others) are entering Bob Feller territory so OU can find a much nicer example somewhere else.

I would only worry about signitures when they cost more than the ball they are signed on.

Ok thanks guys. That guy has sold a few other Bench balls that were in better shape that ended up around $50. MLB auction has a nice one for like $105 including shipping and a case. Have any of you purchased anything from that particular seller before?

There can be and are errors and discrepancies in the UD, MLB, Steiner databases. Sometimes an item isn't listed as they haven't updated the date yet, and MLB often plays it conservative and lists a game used item as 'team issued.' A minor discrepancy in detail often doesn't signify something wrong, I assume the data is typed in by hand.
