Thanks Paul...I wish you knew too!

I am pretty lucky, my 8 year old son lives, eats, dreams baseball. I have 3 older daughters so this is a long time in coming for me on the baseball realm and I cherish every aspect of it. My son at 8 has seen thousands of girls Fastpitch games with my middle daughter on Team USA, but I need him to understand real pitching is overhand and it is OK to lead off, haha...With the movie coming out and the fact Jackie is always discussed at school, he loves him and the reprints he has in his own collection aren't good enough. He even used my 54 Topps Jackie and Doby cards for a project at school...the kids LOVED the cards, it was pretty cool. I feel pretty lucky...hopefully your son starts to get the bug!

Mine is seventeen now. Had him in Tee-Ball at five, but all those little kids would do is become infatuated with ant hills in the infield! No kidding. Through soccer, and then developing a great football throwing arm at nine (I'm like, where the heck did THAT come from), suffering through self-disappointed coaches, he finally settled on basketball. Now, he gets chosen in pick-up games with adults. Here's how he finally beat me: He said, Dad, are you letting me win? I said, literally, You'll know the answer if you have children. Then, he started to beat me because he figured out he could wear me down -- best of three, I win two, then it's best out of five.

Here's a Doby for the next class project:
