Default a Fun Little contest

Posted By: Robert

Ok here's deal, I am going to hold a
contest. I was inspired by the paperclip to house trade sequence, and
have decided to try the same thing but with cards. In a nutshell it
goes like this: I'll have 2 cards and they'll both be up for trade
separately. It is then up to you to make offers 10% in my favor and
trade for the cards. after 1 year, the lesser valued card will be given
away to one lucky user who participated in a trade with me during this
process.

The more trades I make, the higher the
value of the card I will be giving away will be. Depending on how well
this does, the card I give away could be anything from a Nolan Ryan
rookie to a 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig, to a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, and
even to a Ted Williams rookie. It all depends on how much you want to
participate. So please help me out, in doing so, you'll be helping
yourselves too.

The 2 cards I am starting with are a
1974 Topps Billy Williams (in G-VG worth 25 cents) and a 1954 Topps
Sherm Lollar (in VG worth about $4 (I am guessing on that because I
my price guide doesn't list VG prices) I'm starting small in hopes of getting a good solid foundation on which I will build to get the higher end cards.Below are scans of the cards so you can see for yourself what you'd be trading for. Thanks for looking, hope to trade with you and Thanks in advance if you do trade. Note: All cards must be pre 1975!

if you want the billy williams your card offer + 10% would be 28cents or more

if you want the lollar your card offer +10% would be $4.40 or more

every trade will be listed here as they are made, so you can see the progression of these trades.

You probably should put this in the proper section, either post war cards or BST.

The game sounds fine but I don't think it should be here in this pre-war section. I will see what others say....best regards

Byron thought of this 18 months ago and has traded his way up to a PSA 1951 Spahn which I've followed on the CU boards. He also has a trade thread here on the BST, which I'm sure you've seen. Just my opinion but "contests" like this wear thin after the first one.
