Default 1967 Buffalo Bisons with Johnny Bench

I recently picked up this 1967 Buffalo Bisons team issue photo with Johnny Bench and Hal McRae. I had never seen this before and was curious if anyone could provide any details about it.

Thanks
Phil

Very nice, Phil. I've never seen that one before either. I would put a value on it somewhere between $30 - $50. Minor league team issue photos like that can be found from that era for many different teams.

I dunno either but that's a cool piece. Many more "downward trending" players on the roster back then too.

Lot of great names on that photo.

Because it is a premium -- Carling --rather than a team-issued photo, I'd guess the value to be more in the $100+ area.

Very neat item and includes one of my favorite Cardinals, Ernie Broglio. But for him...and the Cubs...we never would have had Lou Brock, who was doing pretty well in 1967

Great piece, Phil! Brings back a lot of memories here.
Saw plenty of the Herd that season, including -- briefly -- the teen phenom Bench, with our dads and granddads.
Not a terrible side, but they avoided last in the IL by a mere half a game.
Hey Mabel! ...

Bob:

I had a similar 1971 Billings team photo premium w/George Brett at one time and was only able to get about $40 after a couple of price drops, that's where I got my value from. I believe that Bench & Brett are similar tier HOF'ers.

Were the Bisons a Cincinnati affiliate back then? I know they were the Triple A team for the Mets and Indians (and others) at various points.

I think that assessment is right on, Phil. Bill James ranked Brett the #2 guy at third of all-time, and the discussion of top catchers usually has Berra, Bench and Campanella in the top three.

Great piece in any event,

Larry

I have one exactly like this. It was sent from a friend in the Buffalo area. It is in lesser condition than the one here. Glad to have it. Bench was my boyhood baseball hero.
