1953 Bowman Color a very, very close second. (This is the set I traded to this fellow from Virginia, sight unseen, for over 700 T206 cards sometime back in the 80's).

Although I'm not a set collector, I would have to say the 1963 Topps is my favorite post-war set.

The 1975 Topps Mini set rules; big time registry competition, ridiculous prices on high grade cards; its a lot of fun.

It is difficult to decide, so I have to list the top four.....

These were the three (in order that I collected) as a kid

1949 Leaf BB
1949 Bowman BB
1952 Topps

and, the 1953 color Bowman

TED Z

1952 Topps
Not all because of their value but have been intrigued by those cards since I started collecting back in '82. Something about them when you get all of them together.

Then I'd have to say 1956 Topps for me is second. Heck, the entire run of Topps from 1952-1956............

1. 1949 Bowman PCL
2. 1952 Mothers Cookies
3. 1962 Post
4. 1950s-60s Seattle Popcorn -- all the sets!
5. 1966-69 Kahns

and my favorite Topps set is 1974 -- I started it out of packs in 1974 and completed it in college in the late 80s with all variations

1) 1962 Topps -- I completed a "master" set back in the day. All the green tints; variations and other goodies in that set.

2) 1957 Topps -- Love the design

3) 1967 Topps -- Love the design

4) 1969 Topps -- Actually completed as a child

5) 1984 Donruss -- Again a great design

I also like 1985 Topps, for the reason that it was the first set I collected as a youth--yeah, I'm a little young.

Aesthetically I like:

1958 Hires Root Beer -I actually like them better without the tab.
1963 Topps
1957 Topps
1954 Topps

Sentimentally I like the 1975 Topps as those are the first baseball cards I remember buying by the pack.

1972 Topps - first cards I remember as a kid
1957 Topps - first pre 1970 set I completed (finished this one pre ebay and it took forever buying 3 or 4 cards at a time at local shows)
1953 Topps

1. 1954 Topps - I love the Kaline, Aaron and Banks rookies, and not one, but two Ted Williams cards. It's just missing a Mantle though, which stinks.

2. 1975 Topps - this set just perfectly fits with the middle of the 70's in terms of design with those bold colors and all those great photos of players on the patchy dirt covered training fields. And the Brett rookie is one of my all time favorite cards.

Thanks,

Andy

I'd have to rank them in the following order, but it's likely to change at anytime.

1) 1967 Topps
2) 1968 Topps 3-D
3) 1966 Kahn's
4) 1953 Bowman Color
5) 1969 Topps Super
6) 1959 Bazooka (although I like the '59 Bazooka football set better)
7) 1950 Bowman
8) 1970 Kellogg's
9) 1974 Topps Deckle Edge
10) 1967 Dexter Press

When I do this I always break it down by decade:
1940's - '49 Bowman
1950's - '57 Topps
1960's - '63 Fleer/'67 Topps
1970's - '72 Topps
1980's - '84 Donruss

Some of the ugliest sets IMO are 1973 Topps/1977 Topps/1981 Fleer.

1960 Topps (because it was the first set I completed and mostly out of packs and trading with others in 1961)
