Steve-
Have you ever come across a Duke Invitational trophy for sale? I've been looking for one for a few years, finally saw one but the auction had closed 2 weeks before. I remember seeing a picture of the Aikau family mantle and there were tons of them belonging to Eddie and Clyde, so there must be some floating around. Kawika was keeping an eye out for me but they sent him on something called a "haole snipe hunt" and he staggered home empty handed 3 days later.

They gave them out to all the invitees- it's like an AYSO trophy, every one is a winner!
24 invitees each year from '65 thru '85. 480 trophys out there. The one I posted sold for $3k

Very cool! I grew up surfing Cocoa Beach Pier - Gary Propper era. Do you surf New England? I did for 15 years - 5 mil wetsuit, booties, ice cream headaches, brrrr. Ever check out that "secret spot" in Marblehead?

Title changed...good move for those of us who have ADD. I surely hope I didn't offend anyone.

An exhibit w/DK came up for sale on Ebay earlier this year, from one of his movie roles in the 1920s. Sold very strongly as I recall. I'm not sure if I saved the image. I will check.

Default Duke & Babe

About 20 years ago a co-worker brought this image into work to show me, it was an original snap shot of these two greats, my co worker claimed his father had taken the photo. I couldn't buy the pic from him but he did let me make a copy.
