A lot of the sports images like this on Zazzle are licensed from the national archives. I'd be inclined to believe the ID.

Hey, I figure the government can screw up anything, even stuff they don't actually do.

I did make a small mistake myself, it's not national archives. It's Library of Congress from the Bain collection of glass negatives and prints. Attributed at the time by Bain news service, and apparently looked at by a SABR committee in 2006.

The rest of the collection is pretty impressive, and I haven't seen any with incorrect information. Of course I haven't looked at all 50,000+ images and with that many there are bound to be a few that are wrong.
