Some of the prices were insane but thats the way it goes. Type 1 and Type 2 sales are gaining alot more popularity and the prices are reflecting that

I wish there was some registry or other resource that could give reliable info as to how many of these photos actually exist. The Mays photo is iconic. Museum piece. But are there 10 Type 1s? 23? 125? 500? 1000? I'm sure some people have a better feel for this than I do. Common sense would suggest the more important a photo is the more of them that were printed and the more of them that were preserved.

$4780 is insane!!! The shot isnt even clear and has a out of focus appearance. It may be a iconic shot but is it really a appealing image? Its a back shot thats out of focus.

That's sort of my point . . .anyone who shelled out that money I assume is presuming that this is a "rare" photo. Is it?

No picking on this iconic photo, but it is immediately recognized by every baseball fan.

Im sure theres plenty of copies out there but no way of knowing exactly how many.
