I was under the impression that this card only came with the Lenox back? Rob

According to the T206museum theyre only supposed to be with Lenox backs.I never understood how this card and the Shappe,Mitchell/toront,etc got to be part of the checklist. Its obviously just a printing flaw and if you counted every printing flaw no one would ever complete a set. Also theres 3 cards i know of but dont have for Hemphill which are totally missing the first H in his name and a small part of the E yet that card hasnt been put on a checklist.Weve talked about them here a couple times so its not like theyre a secret.Ive seen 2 of them in person and can confirm them as being unaltered.

I also personally have a Griffith, batting pose graded thats missing part of the A and all of the TI at the end of Cincinnati.Since its the only one known and missing more than one letter(and graded) ill be generous and take 10k for it from the first person who offers it so they can complete their master set.Thats obvious a good price considering who the player is and what Nodgrass cards go for.

Where are all the experts? No one has any opinions on this one? That's strange?

In my opinion the card is 100% legitimate and being graded makes a big difference. The card is very rare to begin with and with the Old Mill back makes it that much more desirable. If it were mine I'd think about putting it in one of the major auction houses. I don't believe Ebay would ever bring the maximum return for these type of cards.

PSA must have missed that error. The lable does not say it is the error. I think if it is really the error card maybe it should be sent to a better grading company and have it slabbed as the error. Then it would for sure being in a nice amount of money. Rob

Hi Rob,
The card looks legit to me, and I have seen copies with several different backs. Remember the fronts and backs weren't printed at the same time, so the error could appear with any number of backs....

I believe I have a couple of scans of other Murr'y cards at home in my Gallery, and will check tonight. Be well Brian
