Primer on Pre-War, Game-Used Bats?

I'm becoming increasingly interested in pre-war, game-used bats, and was hoping to find a good resource to learn more about what to look for in terms of authentication. I haven't been able to locate any good resources along those lines, though. Are there any good primers out there, along the lines of the Keurajian book on HoF autographs? Or any other recommended resources?

I don't know about gamed-used but Dave Bushing has two booklets out on Hillerich & Bradsby and Spalding store model bats. You can find them on Ebay.

The best book is "A complete reference guide Louisville Slugger" by Vinca Malta. It only overs Louisville sluggers but includes shipping records of hall of famers up to when the book was published couple years back. But it helps date bats and everything.
