Default Are these cards legit?

Check out the cards listed by seller "1cupoftea" on eBay:

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZ1cupofteaQQhtZ-1

The cards include the following:

1909 T206 Cobb (graded "Authentic" by SGC)
1931 W517 Complete Set
1932 U.S. Caramel Near Complete Set
1953 Topps Set Complete Set

Each auction is a one-day listing ending at about 5:30 pm EDT on Friday, Sept 9 and has a starting bid of $99. What do you guys make of these cards? They have to be fake, right? Who would list cards like this for only 1 day?

The seller claims that the 1953 Topps set could become a straight Near Mint set with a little moderate work.

The REAL owner looks like they live in England and has bought lip gloss, tongue studs and plastic baggies among other things.

This is a case of a phished ebay account. You know those emails you get that pretend to be from ebay or paypal, but are not really? Well, the real account holder must have gotten fooled and logged into his account through one of the links in the phishing email. The bad guys then have the password. Later on, they will list 1 day listings of expensive cards. With lifted images from previous auctions. The reason they use 1 day listings is so the auction will have a higher chance of ending before ebay catches the fraud and ends the auction. But the criminals don't have to have the auction completely end to steal money. They'll probably get a few emails and contacts during the short time they are up. Even after ebay finds out and shuts them down, they can go back to the people that contacted them and give them a good deal - say $2,000 on a complete 1932 Caramel set or something like that. These guys are also always out of the country, and will never be willing to meet in person even if you offer cash.

Thanks guys for the emails and alerts. This board definitely does great work monitoring ebay!

As mentioned, those items are in our current auction. They are in our physical possession and will not go anywhere except to the winning bidders after the auction.

There are many great items in this auction at www.csauctions.com. Check it out and let us know if you have any additional questions about any lots.

Thanks again - Steve
