Question on Ebay seller
Has anyone ever bought from PWCC (PrewarCardCollector) on ebay? Seems like their auctions have a lot of bids as soon as they are listed, and many items have multiple bids from the same ebay account.

Pwcc is a very big very popular seller. I have no claims to make about the sellers ethics, pro or con. Just that they do a lot of volume, and seem to be a pretty trusted/reputable seller.

I've made several purchases from them over the last couple of years and I can't remember ever having an issue.

PWCC (along with probstein123 and in some respects, just_collect) is one of the biggest sellers/consignors for cards on ebay where most of their auctions start at 99 cents and run to completion. They are very popular so they have a large customer base that watches their auctions.

Great, thanks. There are a couple of cards I am interested in that they are selling. I haven't bought before from them so I was a bit thrown by all of the action so early in most all of their listings.

PWCC is great. They are one of a small handful (I can count them on one hand) of auctioneers that start their auctions at 99 cents and run them to completion. Having a great variety of stuff in addition to crystal clear scans makes for a winning combination.

And I don't know what it is about PWCC auctions, but when they list items, they get bid on aggressively.... they seem to almost always generate high bids and attract great interest .... so, with that advice, be prepared to bid aggressively.

I've bought from him a few times as well. He's always been really good about communicating back and forth. I agree with others- love how his auctions start at $.99 instead of a bunch of BINs.

Does PWCC allow consignors to bid on their own items?

I have never had any issues with PWCC, just_collect or probstein123. I appreciate the chance to bid in their auctions which are a throwback to the way things used to be on ebay, .99 starting bids and go from there.

I have never had any issue with PWCC, Probstein, JustCollect, Joes etc......
I am more concerned about their consignors than I am them. (and this is only a concern, I have no proof of anything)

I like that PWCC has large detailed scans in their auctions. You feel more confident in a high bid when you can more clearly see what you are bidding on.

No need for a consignor to bid on their own stuff with PWCC. Their stuff usually brings high prices anyway. I have seen some stuff go grossly over average selling price to the point where I am scratching my head as to what is going on. I have also seen stuff go pretty cheap, as to wonder, what is up with this?? I have seen him have the exact same card in the exact same grade in the same auction. Usually the nicer looking of the two cards goes for less money. That has made me wonder as well. I don't think about it too hard though, as I just relate it to different eyes looking at it.

The big ebay guns certainly have some cult followers...check out this bidder:
dpalkon1 last 30 days 993 items bid on..3 retractions...56 in the last six pwcc 12% bbcardexchange 14% probstein 25% At previous 30 day spans the bid % has been even higher as well as retractions. These sellers should offer him free shipping on everything since he's so loyal. Richard Lapointe |

I've also bought from him a few times and never had a problem.. even called him on the phone a couple times to ask questions. He seemed really friendly and straight forward. To your comment, anytime I see he's listing, I check out all his items. I usually just have to bid everything I'm intererested in since I'll fill up my watch list otherwise. This can equal 50, 80, 100 or more very early bids.

That can answer some of the questions we have had concerning the frequency of bidding with one seller. Not saying how many bidders have this strategy but if one person does then most likely someone else does too.

Drysdale SGC 80
Someone explain this to me
I win few items from them because I have to factor in sales tax. Roger |

Roger I'm clueless on that one. There were 5 bids, by 5 different bidders that pushed the card from a respectable 167.00 to the final 305.00. What those 5 bidders were thinking...guess we'll never know.

The Drysdale appeared to be undergraded. It did not look like a '6'. It looked higher. That could have had something to do with it.
