Default Since we mentioned Mr. Mack in another thread

Today would have been his 147th birthday. And I suspect Connie would still be managing in street clothes if he could.

So, in honor of Connie, let's show those cards, memorabilia and other artifcats of Mr. Mack's life in baseball

Regards
Rich

Default Connie Mack

Honoring 50 years of Connie Mack's reign of the Philadelphia A's......my favorite piece.

1950 season Opening Day at Shibe Park vs Red Sox program.

I used to collect alot of Mack stuff. Most of it is still packed up from when I moved, But these are some of the things I have out. The artwork is the original art by Willard Mullin when Mack died. The autographed book I bought when I was probably ten in an antique store for $5. The Box was presented to Mack and came from his family as did the top pencil and the red fountain pen.

National Chicle...... A dapper Mack next to some heavy-set dude with a wrinkled suit.

Lovely Day...

Default IGGY, my guess is,...

I'll wager that the other gentleman is John J McGraw and that photo was taken before the 1933 All-Star Game. I could be wrong, so if I am; please correct me.

Leon, please give Rich a cigar......he is our winner. Here is a photo of McGraw at the 1933 all-star game wearing that funny looking hat and in the process wrinkling his suit.

Lovely Day...

One of my favorite Connie Mack pieces, it's entitled "Mr. Baseball".
