Default Parkhurst Reprints

The reincarnated Parkhurst issued reprint sets of cards for the 1992/93 and 1993/94 season. I see them on Ebay. They are grouped by Ser-- which stands for series? Were they insert cards?

Also, how many series were issued for each year? Recently on Ebay I saw available Ser 3, 4, and 5 for 1992/93 and Ser 6 and 7 for 1993/94. Is this a continuation/carryover or did both years start with Ser 1?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
