Default Mickey Mantle Topps Picasso Short Print

I just need to get this one out there because...because...well just take it all in.

I am actually a little taken aback as this is 335 bucks with 2+ days to go. I can understand having a beat card, honestly sometimes I like them better. However as a caveat, I like it to have a face at least.

Some possible explanations for the top bid being that high:
  1. Two newbies are bidding strong because they heard centering was super-important
  2. The card was actually used by Picasso to create a sketch
  3. It's the prototype for a Topps Project 2024 card
  4. 1953 Topps Mantles are the new T206 Evans...money is no object
  5. There's a little shilling going on

6. A budget set builder wants to finish their set and this will be cheaper.

How dare you inject logic into a thread with comedic potential.

You are, of course, correct. After seeing the one that ended for $864 with 44 bids, I can certainly see the sense (and legitimacy) of a $335 bid with 2+ days to go for this particular example.

However, it was more fun to post what I wrote.
