Default F150 Mini Pennants - new info

Posted By: bbcp

I have new info relating to a the American Nut & Chocolate Pennants (F150), which are shown on p. 23 of my 2002 Krause guide, and listed as a 1950 issue. When I purchased an example from this set for my type collection (~ 10 years ago), it came with a small cardboard card, slightly bigger than the pennant. The card dates the set as a 1949 issue. It has an offer for a 4"x9" pennant, for 5 of these 'cards' and 10 cents, to be sent by 10/31/49.

So my guess is the F150 pennants were individually packaged with this card (and maybe some other item?), and sold in 1949. I am also guessing that the remainder was then surplused in 1950. The Krause description says "...sold them as a set of 22 for 50 cents". So these mini pennants were probably availble as singles in 1949, and as a set in 1950.
