I know nothing about Cobb's autograph, but none should be that dark and bold and have the same amount of pen pressure to every letter.

No comment on the authenticity as baseball signatures are not my specialty. However, there is a lot of bleeding of the ink into the leather and it looks like the ball was scuffed below the Cobb signature to remove one that was already there. The scuffing is too confined to a very distinct area.

That would be one of the boldest Cobb signatures on a ball if it was real, and that's the big problem. I'd be taking a hard pass on that one.

Looks like a trusty green Bic pen to me.

And whoever is trying to sell this to you KNOWS damn well it's no good but is playing the "I have no idea card." I get people who are inexperienced in collectibles and go to sell a relatives items after they pass on or whatever, but Ty Cobb is an American figure, not just a baseball player. I'd be doing research all over the internet trying to find out value. Especially considering that it's attached to Halper, it's not even hard to find info

It's not attached to Halper.

The COA is fake as well.

A Halper COA is as good as a Coaches Corner COA.
Did CC use that Halper trick for a while?
Also as good as a COA from the Florida Mafia. (there are so many different ones in Fla that I cannot remember them all).

If that ball was authentic in the condition it is in and given how dark the ink is it would be close to a 100,000 dollar ball...but thats the illusion these guys prey on they want you to think you are getting that deal of a lifetime for next to nothing. If it seems to good to be true it most always is in the autograph game.

Still are. Check out this unbelievable ball, lot #1 from their current auction.

When I say unbelievable, I mean UNBELIEVABLE

"Comes with a full LOA from Barry Halper, and retail is five figures, easily!"
